Access notes
An active Army test range covering much of the Tularosa Basin, and a separate place from White Sands National Park. The range is closed to the public; the museum outside the main gate and the twice-yearly Trinity Site open days are the only public access. Listed because the scenes were filmed on range land.
NowThe climactic battle scenes of 12 Strong were filmed at White Sands Missile Range, where the production found a canyon area (referred to as Thurgood Canyon) resembling the Afghan terrain of the true story.
