Access notes

A sovereign pueblo on a 367-foot sandstone mesa, continuously inhabited for centuries. The village is reached only on an official guided tour booked through the Sky City Cultural Center. A separate photography permit is required, and the pueblo closes to visitors for ceremonial days.

Parking

Visitor parking at the Sky City Cultural Center; a shuttle carries tours up to the mesa.

What happened here

The spaghetti western used the Acoma mesa and its approach for its frontier southwest. The village is reached today only on the pueblo's own guided tour.
